Hand Marbled Observer's Book - 'Dogs'

I have 3 books remaining from our first collection of these books, this one 'Dogs' plus two others (separate listings) which did not get listed previously as they are both 'seconds' because of the marbling.

This one has the most lovely inscription 'with many tailwags. From Jane, Christmas 1946.

Each vintage Observer's book has been uniquely hand marbled. The whole cover has been marbled, front, back and the spine. All are different and many have been marbled to reflect the contents of the book.

Standard Observer book size: 145mm x 90mm but there is a bit of variation between them.

Inside covers do have some excess paint / size residue from the marbling process.

The spine on this one, originally red is now very faded.

Some of these are over 60 years old so they do have signs of wear and of a past life, this one probably more-so than others as the spine has a tear in the cloth and the board are slightly coming away.

The title of the book has been marbled over so is not always 100% legible.
