We are now giving you the opportunity to build up your own marbling kit allowing you to pick and choose what pieces you might like and make your kit as comprehensive or as basic as you wish.
I have added an asterisk to all items I think should be purchased if you are completely new to marbling and have no other supplies.
We also hope that this style of listing will make it easier to come back and order more goods when you run low and we are hopefully going to continue to add new items that we think you will enjoy.
PLEASE NOTE THIS LISTING IS FOR THE UK ONLY AND EVERYTHING ORDERED FROM THIS LISTING WILL DEFAULT TO SHIPPING VIA ROYAL MAIL TRACKED 48 PARCEL.
(INTERNATIONAL CUSTOMERS PLEASE SEE THE SEPARATE INTERNATIONAL LISTING).
The drop-down menu lists all the items that are currently available to purchase and you can add as many or as few as you wish.
A few notes follow to make your ordering as easy and possible and to hopefully answer any questions you might have:
**We would recommend ordering AT LEAST the following:
The Carrageenan, Alum, Instructions, expander and either ready mixed or tubes of paint.
We do NOT offer a tray within these marbling provisions, as a cat litter tray makes for a fantastic marbling tray as do gravel trays from the garden centre.
The marbling instructions are written by us and are specific to these supplies.
They are comprehensive and outline how to mix the marbling supplies and how to use them.
These should only be purchased in conjunction with using our specific supplies.
The instructions are a printed A4 document and have an A4 cover made from one of our own real hand marbled papers.
The papers are supplied in large size to enable you to cut them down to your own requirements / tray size.
The sheets of paper are available as bundles of 5:
510mm x 750mm 120gsm for the buttermilk
510mm x 750mm long grain, 120gsm for the antique fawn shade
510mm x 770mm long grain, 120gsm for the coloured sheets and the colours
supplied in this set of 5 are:
Black, Red, Blue, Green, Plum.
Paints available are Winsor and Newton Designer Gouache 14ml tubes for you to mix yourselves (you will need some jam jars or small pots and to purchase the 'expander'), alternatively we have some colours available which are ready-mixed and 'good to go' which are supplied in 60ml glass jars.
The Alum is an important factor as it ensures the paint sticks to the surface.
The Fan brushes have a nice wide head perfect to get some good coverage.
Sold as a set of 3.
Bamboo stylus are two different thickness'.
Pipettes are a great option should you wish to apply the paint in specific areas of your tray or if you want to try your hand at the art of Ebru.
IMPORTANT: Gloves should be worn during the aluming process.
The metallic paints are all acrylic paints and these look particularly good with the coloured base papers.
